Welcome Waitomo Mini-Tankers to the Waitomo whānau

After many months of hard mahi (and a little bit of blood, sweat and tears), we’ve now finally completed our acquisition of Z Energy’s (Z) Mini-Tankers and bulk commercial fuel business, taking over ownership on 1 August. 

We’re thrilled to welcome the Waitomo Mini-Tankers Operations team, who have transferred over from Z, and our 15 regional Mini-Tanker operators (known as Kiwees), to the Waitomo whānau.  Late last month, we all met up for the first time in preparation for go-live, and it was great to see the mutual commitment to ensuring a smooth transition for our newly acquired customers. Our focus is very much on delivering continuity of supply and first class service.

Because the Mini-Tankers brand operates in both the North and South Islands, purchasing the business also creates a national footprint for Waitomo, expanding on our existing network of retail sites stretching from Paihia to Dunedin.

Through this acquisition, we expect to double our current commercial volumes. Few opportunities come up like this and, with our usual Waitomo optimism and agility, we were able to make it happen.
